Summary of the twentieth meeting
The 20th Nordic Health Promotion Research Network meeting was held the 8th-9th of December, 2016, at WHO, Copenhagen.
The first day the meeting started with a summing up of and reflexions on the Nordic health promotion research conference held in June, 2016 in Jyväskylä. Thereafter assistent professors Ditte-Marie From and Nicole Thualagant, from Roskilde University, held a lecture on ”Cross-cultural research with focus on health promotion and sustainable development”. The presentation was followed by discussions in smaller groups and plenum.
The day ended with sessions in the working groups.
The second day Dr. Gauden Galea, Director of Non communicable Diseases and Promoting Health through the Life-Course, WHO Regional Office for Europé, discussed and reflected on ”Rise and fall of health promotion”. Thereafter he informed about the global WHO conference on health promotion recently held in Shanghai. http://www.who.int/healthpromotion/conferences/9gchp/about/en/
Dr. Elena Shewkune, who is taking over the responsibilities for health promotion at WHO in Copenhagen, presented herself. She will be the network´s contact person at the division in future. Day 2 there were also time for work in the working groups.
Ulla Forinder, Sweden, was appointed by the meeting as new chairperson for the network meetings in Copenhagen 2017-2018.
Next meeting, the 21st will be held at WHO, Copenhagen on the 8 th -9th of March 2017.
