Protocol 36th Meeting

Summary of the 36th meeting, November 2024, WHO Copenhagen

The 36th meeting of the Nordic Health Promotion Research Network was held on 28 – 29 November 2024.

On the first day, Mr Robb Butler, Director, Division of Communicable Diseases, Environment and Health, WHO Regional Office for Europe, UN City, Copenhagen, presented “Hot issues in global health”, highlighting current health issues based on the Division’s current strategy. The following strategy is expected to align with ongoing efforts and commitments towards the Sustainable Development Goals, with key milestones and updates likely to be introduced around 2025. The presentation was followed by a plenary discussion. As this WHO division deals with different health issues, it was decided that the dialogue between WHO representatives and NHPRN participants would continue at the next meeting of the network in April 2025. After the plenary discussion, participants met in their respective working groups.
The second day began with working group meetings. Associate Professor Leena Eklund, also a member of the network, then presented the work of the Equity in Health group. This was followed by short presentations from the other working groups on their work in progress. After this, time was set aside for work in the working groups.

The next meeting of the NHPRN, the 37th, will be held at WHO headquarters in Copenhagen on 10-11 April. The autumn meeting is planned for 26-27 November 2025.
